FIRST SBX COMPETITION OF THE YEAR
Yesterday, we competed in our first snowboard cross race of the season in Courmayeur, with our athletes Bianca Mariotti, George Cramley, Davide Santin, and Nicolò Ottria, accompanied by coach Mattia Canovi. The day was perfect, with clear skies and excellent snow conditions—ideal for an exciting competition.
Since our main focus has always been on freestyle snowboarding, this race was a new challenge for us. To prepare, we dedicated Saturday’s training session in Cervinia to the technical aspects of snowboard cross. The team was excited and motivated to test new moves and race strategies.
Unfortunately, the competition didn’t go as planned—there’s still a lot of work to do, but we’re on the right track. This experience gave us valuable insights into what we need to improve for the future.
Now, our focus shifts back to freestyle and the upcoming Italian Cup event next weekend in Cervinia. We will return to boardercross training later on, incorporating new techniques and specialized equipment.
