Coppa Italia - Prato Nevoso

The We Snowboard team tackled the Prato Nevoso Coppa Italia weekend on January 18th and 19th, 2025, with great effort and determination. Our team departed on Wednesday afternoon to make the most of the two full training days scheduled for Thursday and Friday.

Thursday brought unfavorable weather conditions: low visibility and high humidity made training difficult. Despite the challenges, the team went to bed motivated and ready for the next day's session.

Friday started with beautiful sunshine, and tricks were coming together one after another. However, the mood shifted when Bianca Mariotti fell while attempting a rail, hitting her stomach hard. The concern was immediate, and we quickly called for help. Bianca reported severe pain and a feeling of swelling in the abdominal area. She was airlifted to Cuneo hospital, where she underwent X-rays and ultrasounds. Thankfully, no fractures or internal injuries were found. Bianca was kept under observation overnight and was sent home the next day with her parents. A worrying incident, but fortunately, it ended without major consequences.

Saturday saw the slopestyle competition, but unfortunately, George and Cecilia weren't able to showcase their best skills, making mistakes in both of their runs. Despite this, we managed to unwind that evening with a great night ride: the snow was fantastic, and we all had a lot of fun.

On Sunday, poor visibility made it impossible to hold the competition on the initially chosen jump, and we had to settle for a much smaller setup. This presented a challenge for George, who is used to the bigger jump, but both he and Ceciliashowed great resilience. They finished seventh and fifth, respectively, earning a solid result in their first Coppa Italia event of the season.

At the end of the day, we reflected on the trip, reviewed our performance, and set new goals. Now, we're ready to work hard for the upcoming competitions, with the aim to keep growing and performing better each time!
